As a former citizen of Ukraine I fear for the future — not going to lie am pretty drunk at the moment so am using this as a medium for a cathartic release to vent my anger and frustration at the state of the world in 2022
“You can do it” is a mantra praised consciously and unconsciously the world over. Yet to make equality parallel between all human beings on this order is quite a tall feat.
In many respects for 99.99% of human history we did not have the technology to achieve this regardless of our best intentions. Somewhere peering into the deep horizon is a future that beckons with this uniform utopia if we are ready and strong enough to grasp it. A paradise where everyone is equal under the law and above a uniform ether underpinning humanity the world over. A future where your beginnings do not determine your heights, where your work pays off no matter your location in the world and your position in the layers of hierarchy crushing down on the human experience.
If we take all of our technological achievement in the 20th and 21st centuries, and boil it down to the pure essentials, a want of equality among beings and under the law of circumstances is needed — very much the same as what is being yearned and grasped at by the American masses trying to break free. People just want to be people and act in the ways which they see fit for their happiness, liberty and freedom; without the intervention of governments, corporations and circumstances which cause undue turbulence to millions of souls. And this is the ultimate struggle against our nature. The failure of not being imaginative enough to develop the technology of holding ourselves accountable to ourselves. To be able to take pride in putting in the guide-rails necessary for common human prosperity the globe over!
Countries, nation states and ethnicities are all obsolete and decrepit conceptions of a common understanding. Humanity really needs to see the light in every single human being and take pride in their contribution to the greater whole. Through a series of unfortunate events we’ve been sidewindered into a darker future, derailed into a nightmare of divisions which do not truly exist. It is very easy to tap racism, nationalism, sexism, fascism or any number of other deep brainstem feelings lurking under the surface of an otherwise collaborative intelligence. Yet it is more becoming of enlightened beings to take credit for turning down the harder path and putting attention and energy into thinking about their contribution into the fabric of the world than boasting about their pride of coming out of one womb or another which they did not have a say in. It is more admirable to take the side of appreciation for having the opportunity to share this little blue rock with those who are so different. So unique!
We are one people. One earth.
Despite the oceans and the mountains that separate us. The fucking political divisions and profit motives. Beyond the concepts of a few psychopaths for how to exploit us for their gain, as if we are a strip-mine rich in gold ore — we are one. We are united and indivisible in our worldly pursuit for justice, equality and moving on ahead beyond this time of troubles, which is to be ridiculed in books of history. We feel the future which is coming. A dawn which is yet to be born. We struggle together against the tides of tyranny and control by the few. We will not fail. We will not march into the darkness like this is some acceptable holocaust. We yell boldly into the dark sky that we — as one humanity united — will not perish from this earth!
There is beauty in our differences. It is what makes us strong, respectable and admirable. Despite the artificial boundaries we draw, the laws we make and the proclamations we utter ( none of which really exist ) our diversity is our greatest strength! Monoculture is scientifically proven to lead to crop failure, business destruction and a uniformity of banality so uninspiring as to result in rebellion. Whenever we say one being is lesser than another, we know in our heart of hearts that we are wrong and that we speak lies. Yet we are swayed by those lies either by the promise of monetary reward or the threat of violence. And we pretend to believe. It makes it easier when others also pretend with us and support us in the lies we tell to ourselves.
But we must awaken to the fact that there is a uniform and universal truth underpinning reality. And this ether does not give a shit about the nature of reality as we convince it to be to ourselves. It is like a gravity, a tidal force that pulls us kicking and screaming into the future despite and inspite our alternate views and our despicable intentions. It comes at us wave after wave, and this indominable force will either bend us in the way in which we want to be bent or destroy a whole great many of us before forcing the remainder down the inevitable path thats been carved for us to walk. With every pulse of our heartbeats we move closer to this eventuality one way or another and even when we act against our nature to cut out and gorge on the hearts of other human beings, the waves still move us down the brighter path of history were destined to traverse.
The tragedy of the commons is not in that bad human beings do evil things to one another. The error lies in the misunderstanding of the gravity of where humanity is heading as a whole. One way or another were gonna get to the bright future at the end of the tunnel — and the people who are dying right now do not need to. We’re creating unnecessary chaos and carnage by fighting against the tide bringing us to shore. The inevitability of a global fuckin’ party that is the human race celebrating each individual and the uniquenessness that make them special to every other being, is as inevitable as the internet, or the bicycle, or the plow. We just have not learned how to share this common vision in a way thats celebrated in every recipient mind yet.
Thats been a lot of bitching. But what are the solutions? How do we mind the gap. The people lost in the transition from petty thuggery to enlightened makers the globe over?
Well.
People like you and me — we just need to talk to other human beings more.
Like the topsoil in a clear-cut jungle we have lost the ability over recent generations to talk to one another and find common ground. We have been further divided by the technology we created. An infrastructure of the mind, we do not yet have the streets and public spaces to integrate and interlope in public intercourse. We have lost the vibrancy of eons gone past. There used to be a rich ferement where ideas common to us all would bubble up from the constant intersection of human beings and the flinting of their minds. The spark which is the soul of humanity and is kept in each being has sputtered and died. We need to, and we must, reach out and grab one another by the hand! We need to talk, sing and laugh in a direct sense that acknowledges our common experience- our struggle to be in a position to wish the best to one another!
You know, having bicycled across the United States, I will let you in on a little secret. Most people are fucking awesome and want the best for you. Most people are excited to meet you and share stories. Most individuals are excited to find common ground and celebrate family, ancestry, history. Most people do not want harm to befall upon you, and cheer for your success in any endeavor you wish to pursue whatsoever! Every interaction with every being, who is in a humanity sense also you, will be happiest if you reciprocate a mutual trust back. 99% of the human beings understand and celebrate that your success is their success because they intrinsically grasp that its moving us all forward..
This is all great but what can be done near term about the state of the world and fools trying to take over it?
I say dont mind the idiots, there are just infidecimally more of us than there are of them. We are working together to develop the technologies necessary to surmount this point in history. They will be forgotten no matter how much destruction they wrought and how much of a futile impotent legacy they attempted to achieve. Their high water mark will be the low mark in a long forgotten and never plumbed septic tank for future archeologists to discover and have long factually error-ridden debates over. My point is to forget them now, crush them into irrelevance by not giving them thought or air-time like stifling a fire of oxygen. Give dictators, autocrats, monarchs, and other despots no fuel with which to postpone the inevitable. Steamroll them by giving them the middle finger and moving on without them. Frankly we dont fucking need their “intelligence” holding us back from our greatness. We are many and they are the fly on Mike Pences shiny evangelical white dome
You dont even need my guidance. You dont need me to explain to you what you know in your gut to be true. Just go with the flow and act in the interest of mutual respect other human beings bestow upon you and expect of you. Factor in that racists and nationalists are morons and go beyond that to celebrate the differences which make us unique. Those special differences give rise to new ideas. Ideas we need to remake the world into the kind of world that was in 1776 envisioned by the American revolution. A world where every being who moves on this earth is able to pursue their truth.
This. This is a world worth fighting for. A world worth dying for. Something that is inevitable yet fleeting. Something that dictators like putin, saddam, xi, and trump will never understand. A future that stalin fought against just as hard as hitler. People are funny arent they? Some pretend that inequality is even possible between nations and races, when in the end there are none
